On 2 November 2011 OCU invited its alumni now living in Shanghai for an alumni meeting in Shanghai itself. As many as 70 people participated; former students and researchers as well as current board members and faculty members.

During the gathering the board members explained about recent developments at OCU and participants from Shanghai expressed their hopes and support for OCU activities in China.

The meeting was effectively an 'OCU Homecoming Day – Shanghai Chapter' and everybody seemed to enjoy it very much. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the OCU Shanghai Yuukoukai, the Osaka City Shanghai Office and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for their invaluable effort.
